Meet our awesome alumni

We asked CodeDoor alumni to share their experiences and give tips to current learners. Here's what they told us:

Casneil

Hallo there! My name is Casneil Simpson, nice to meet you.

What did you do before you qualified with CodeDoor?

Before I qualified for CodeDoor, I was appointed from a non-profit-organisation where they teach people who are interested in learning coding.

What did you do after you qualified with CodeDoor?

After I qualified for CodeDoor, I took on a few projects (nanodegree-programms), which were offered at CodeDoor, successfully completed them, started looking for jobs and I was fortunate enough to actually get a job and since then I have been working as a developer.

How could CodeDoor help you?

CodeDoor provided me with all the tools that I needed to successfully get into the field of development, which are technical skills and also soft skills like communication skills.

What do you want to accomplish next?

My next major goal is to become a better software developer and also to give back to the community and help people who are interested or share the same interests.

What would you like to pass on to learners who are currently undergoing training?

My biggest advice to current learners is to always stick through it and always remember that all work pays off even though it seems rough at times.

What did you do before you qualified with CodeDoor?

Before I had to flee Syria because of the war, I was a system analyst, then a claim assistant in an insurance company and finally a senior personal assistant to the Chief Executive Officer at an insurance company. But when I arrived in Germany with my husband and three children, I had to start all over.

What did you do after you qualified with CodeDoor?

I was given access to the CodeDoor platform and received support from IT experts. Through this and the weekly team meetings it allowed me to get a broad range of knowledge and also support. CodeDoor inspired my Salesforce journey, providing me with the necessary information to enroll in ReDi school.

How could CodeDoor help you?

CodeDoor provided me with enough open doors to peruse, in order for me to recover my IT knowledge and to be prepared for the German market.

What do you want to accomplish next?

I took my first step as a Junior Salesforce Admin. Currently I have three certificates in Salesforce, preparing for more to come. My main goal is to hone my skills in Salesforce Ecosystem.

What would you like to pass on to learners who are currently undergoing training?

Persistence and consistency is key. The hard work will be rewarded nicely. Never lose motivation. Never close a door.

Hector
How did you get together as a team?

I looked for an interesting project to develop, and other people thought the same way. So a common interest joined us: the love to learn.

Why is your teamwork going well?

Our teamwork is going well because we collaborate with each other to solve problems and accomplish our objectives. Each team member contributes his or her knowledge and in the end we exceed our expectations!

How could CodeDoor help you so far?

CodeDoor has been our cornerstone in the development of our knowledge and soft skills. We have always had the help of very good mentors who have guided us in a timely and effective manner throughout the process. The staff of the organization has always been interested in our welfare and it shows that they do it with heart.

What do you want to accomplish next? Do you all have the same goals?

I think all of us want to have a job related with software development and that is why we work hard in our projects.

What would you like to pass on to learners who are currently undergoing training?

I would like them to know that every effort is really worth it, it is an industry with many opportunities. This training process will have a positive influence on their personal and professional lives.
